I understand that Volume Profile value area is calculated starting with the point of control and comparing one row up versus one row down. Is there a way to calculate it by adding the two rows above versus the two rows below? I believe this is the more standard definition.

Also is there a way to optimize the value area calculation as the Motive Wave platform does by using the fewest volume bars possible?

Counting 2 levels at a time is only supported with TPO Value Area Lines. Not Volume Value Area Lines.
