Hey Sierra Chart team, when I trade SIM and I place multiple orders then my SL price remains at the price where it was calculated for first order I placed. If I place new orders then it always puts new sttached order to the same level of price. When I trade live each SL is placed separately, they do not bundle. How can I make them to bundle like on SIM? Thanks |

Make sure that the option for Scale In is enabled. Refer to the following: Attached Orders: Scaling In For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hey John, I want to raise that issue once again. I noticed that when I trade live and I press multiple times buy or sell quickly then if I am filled at different prices my SL and TP lines are treated separately by the SC even if I have Scale In / Out set. I used to have one SL and one TP level for all positions I have. I can then maintain those levels up and down as the price moves. When issue described above occurs my keyboard shortcuts adjust SL and TP only for some orders while the SL and TP for orders 'not accepted for scaling In / Out' are not moving. I need to adjust them with mouse. I scalp and that completely kicks my out of the rhythm. I trade via Ritmic. UPDATE: Sierra chart - above issue happens to me when I only trade live. This basically makes me unable to trade normally because instead of focusing on managing the position I must maintain SL lvl manually. This is serious problem to me. Please advise what to do to resolve it. Thanks a lot. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-12-02 19:20:16

The first thing to do is to enable confirmations: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Menu >> Order Confirmations (chart specific) And when you submit an order that would expect to be scaling in, see if the confirmation indicates that a scale in operation is being performed. That is the first thing to find out. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. Hello Sierra Chart support, yes after enabling confirmations, while submitting and order I am informed about Scaling in and Scaling out. See pics in attachment. So it does recognize I have Scale In /Scale out active. Would you recommend next steps for verification please? There should not be a difference in behaviour between SIM and live account correct? One thing to be aware of is that the Scale In functionality does not work unless the existing Attached Orders are in a non-pending status. So if you submit the initial order that starts a position, and then quickly after you submit another one, then there may not be a scale in occurring.

Hello SC support, I went through documentation, although I still got some questions. Many thanks for further assistance. 1. Is there an option to include attached orders in 'pending' status to be considered in scaling in / out? Or not accepting new market orders until previous attached orders are accepted? 2. Is there an option to check if attached orders from my initial market order are in correct status before I place next trade? Any kind of log which can record that data to check if this is really the case? 3. The status of attached orders is considered locally within SC software itself? Or maybe SC first need to reach server to inform about attached orders and waits for reply of the server. Then when success reply is given back to SC attached orders are in non-pending status? 4. Can this be ping related issue? When I ping my trading server I get anything between 120-180ms. How would you consider that value in terms of my attempt of entering into new position quickly one by one like I described above? Thanks in advance for you support SC. |

1. No because Attached Orders in that state have no quantity and they are not active orders. There is not a reliable way to do this. No we would never add anything like this: Or not accepting new market orders until previous attached orders are accepted?
2. Yes just simply look at the status of them either on the chart or in the Trade Orders Window: Trading Information Windows: Trade Orders Window 3. The status is determined from the server and received in real time as the status changes. 4. Yes that is quite high latency. But maybe not too bad if you are on the public Internet in Europe.
