Is there a setting that I can use to stop downloading historical data when the market is at regular open hours. This downloading causes the chart to sort to freeze and until is done then I lost track where the candle is located/going.

There is not an option for this, but as long as you have been connected, and stayed connected, then there should not be any reason for historical data to be downloaded. Is this something that occurs often? It sounds like it may be that you are having connectivity issues that are causing you to be missing data at times and the system then tries to catch up.
