I think the issue is on my end as you indicated. I would have responded much earlier (to let you know it was on my end) but my whole system crashed and I just got it up - I am going to do a fresh install of Windows 7 and go from there. Once it is up - the next step is a new system.

I would like to know when I build a new system do you prefer Windows 7 for Sierra Chart or Windows 10. If Windows 7, I can no longer get any updates on the fresh install so would that cause an issue. It would be dedicated for Sierra and I would do a dual boot for Windows 10 for everything else unrelated to Trading. Unless you think Windows 10 for everything would be best. Please let me know.. Thanks you for all the help.

Somehow Chrome is not recognizing the certificate or whatever. It obviously has to do with the install of Windows 7 - What updates do I need to correct this. The datea and time are correct. Please help. I have tried searching the internet to no avail. Same error from other browsers too. Thanks.

I am running Sierra Chart in Linux Mint, on a 2015 iMac, saved me all the headaches of Windows (not everyone likes Linux though). Not sure what computer you have, Linux runs natively on almost every home computers except the new M1 Macs.

Yes this is preferred.

Probably the standard Windows updates would resolve this assuming you can obtain them.

Tony, Thank you for the information regarding Linux> I have an older AMD CPU based system. I will be upgrading sometime soon to another likely AMD 12 or 16 core.

Thanks for all the responses Sierra- I have found a few updates SP1 and such. But of course there are hundreds if not more so figuring which ones are best or needed is the issue.

Hi Sierra, Thank you and what I discovered (for anyone who needs to freshly install Win 7 currently after the expiry date) is this. I installed SP1 and the accompanying update. Then I rebooted and left the computer running (I had to do something else) and Windows 7 checked for updates and found 58 important updates (I have the update setting set to this so I can review the updates before downloading and installing). This was surprising to me as I did not think this would happen at all. I thought I would have to manually do everything which I had already spent time doing. Anyway, many of the updates were what I was looking to manually do. So I updated Windows per the update list I chose. Windows downloaded and installed all but 3 which failed. I have not checked as to why yet and any work around as it should have done so. I tried to do one manually and it failed also. However at this point it fixed the Chrome issue and I did not get the error message in the above post at all. I will investigate if there is a reason why I cannot download and install the last few updates especially the one provided by Microsoft on the last day of Update Service 1/14/2020. It was the last Security and Quality Rollup for Win7 which should have updated. Thank you for all the help.
