Hello, I'll like to request the ability to program a hotkey that would place a stop order at the cursor price without the use of the right-click menu.

again the goal is a dedicated keyboard shortcut that would place a stop/limit order where your cursor sits.

Thank you for the help.

Would like to second this. The Move Attached Targets/Stops to Price are pretty useful and would love to see similar for stop/limit order.

Most likely you could achieve this using AutoHotKey - a separate keyboard / mouse macro program - (or another similar of your choice). I have used AHK for a few things I wanted to do in SC and have had no issues of compatibility. Also, the forums for AHK have some folks that respond within minutes that are usually spot on with their suggestions.

Hope this helps,

New Keyboard Shortcut options have been added for "Buy/Sell Limit at Current Pointer Price".

Would it also be possible to add a keyboard shortcut for “buy/sell stop order at current pointer price?” Thanks!

Was the ability to set the stop of a trade based on where the mouse sursor is released?

What this thread is about has been released when we said, which was back in July 2024.

It sounds like what you are looking for is just simply standard chart based order entry. Refer to:

There is already functionality that exists - where you can assign a hotkey for the keyboard that will trigger a buy or sell order - and the price of that order will be entered where the cursor is on the y-axis of the chart.

I'm wondering if it is possible to have your stop created - after you press a hotkey on the keyboard to enter the position - at the position of your cursor on the y-axis.

An example of this would be the following:
1. I press a hotkey on the keyboard to market buy.
2. The current price of the instrument I would like to buy is $23,180.
3. I get filled at market at $23.180.
4. My stop is automatically placed on entry and the price that stop is placed at is where my cursor is on the y-axis of the chart at $23, 160.

Is it possible to do this?
This would allow dynamic stop placement where my cursor is - while allowing speed of entry with a hotkey.

No, this is definitely not supported. You would need to use Attached Orders for this, but the price of the Stop order will be based upon an offset:
