If you do not see the symbol listed, you just need to open a chart for it manually. This is explained here:

We tried that symbol and it works. We will also add it to the list.

Thanks coming back; this is for your information to help you improve things were possible.
Yesterday before I contacted you with my symbol problem I did try manually several times. The problem was every time I tried Sierra charts frozen to the extent I couldn't even switch it off normally I had to use task manager.
When you put the symbol into the system last evening it worked immediately for me. I hope that helps.

This makes no sense unless a large amount of historical tick data was being downloaded for it. That will at times momentarily freeze the user interface. We tried this symbol manually and had no trouble. There should not be any trouble with that at all. We have never known that to be the case.

We do not believe there is a problem that needs to be resolved.

The only reasonable explanation was a downloading of large amounts of historical tick data.

Not that it would matter, but we do see that you are running a slightly older version. Our testing was on 967. However, manually entering a symbol and opening a chart is not going to cause freezing. Unless, it has to do with downloading of historical tick data which could temporarily cause freezes in the case of IQ Feed.

When you can, please do update.

Hello,

Not sure if this relates here, but the is an issue with some of the symbol names in SC for DTN/IQ. If you try to download the crude oil symbol +CL# you will get the historical data, but a “symbol no found” message comes up when SC tries to connect to the delayed feed. This is true of many symbols in 959.

A user from a different service had a similar problem; it was solved by adding a prefix or suffix (can’t remember) to the symbol name.

This is more of a nuisance that anything else so I have not bothered to complain.

This means that IQ Feed does not recognize the symbol when requesting streaming data. You will need to ask IQ Feed about this. This is not something that we have control over.
