Hi there,

I customized one of my control bars and I want to export it to a 2nd instance of SC.

I noticed that there is a file called MenuCustomizations.xml inside the folder of the instance I customized this control bar.

Is it possible to do that? Could I just take this file and copy it to the 2nd instance?

Thank you.

The file you need is called Sierra4.config and is located in the Data folder under the main Sierra Chart installation folder (typically C:\SierraChart).

You can just copy the file to the new system to get all your graphics and control bar customizations.

For more information on what files hold what and copying them to a new installation, refer to the following:

Unfortunately, moving Sierra4.config is a problem due to the scope of what Sierra4.config controls. It is not a simple export, it is a complete redesign of the target instance as it changes far more than just the control-bar.

If one crafts a control-bar on one instance, is there a way to then populate the control-bar configuration to other instances without all the added baggage kept within Sierra4.config?

There is not a way to just copy the one Control Bar.
