Handling of a Trade Template

How does it work?

To place orders, I mainly use saved trade templates (twconfig). For example, I use the template in picture#1.

When I notice in an open trade that Target 1 is not reached without problems, I intervene manually.
I uncheck "Use attached Orders", change the number of contracts to 3 and flatten the first contracts Market. Then I press the button "Cancel all" and set a new bracket order (in this example 2 contracts).

Once the trade is closed, I check the "Use Attached..." box again.

However, if I now look at the settings of the trade template, I see that the quantities for the TP orders have changed (see image#2).
In order to have my "basic setting" again, I have to "reload" the template.

I understand your intention to keep the templates flexible. But in my case very inconvenient.

Is there a possibility to offer an additional option, where you then decide for yourself whether a template may be changeable or not.

Thank you very much and I would be really happy about an answer.

The template is not changing. What is happening is just that changes are being made to the Trade Window, but the Template name at the top does not change and does not get removed.

As you saw, if you reselect the template, it will reset the window to the settings of that template as they were before the changes.

Hi John,
for me it makes no difference whether Trade window or Template. Fact is, unfortunately, that the preset quantities change.
It should be possible that the quantities do not change at all if you want it.
Constantly re-selecting the template can't be your solution, or can it?

The quantities should not change unless you changed them, or if you selected a different template.

From what we can figure out from the above, the issue is that you changed the quantity to 2 from 3, which then caused the attached orders to adjust in order to meet that new quantity.

John, I just want to say a few last words again (I don't expect an answer).

From my point of view, it is very unsatisfactory. It should be possible to intervene manually during a running trade (I am certainly not the only one who does this) without changing the quantities in the template. You have to be able to react flexibly to the market opportunities without having "disadvantages".

Many thanks

We have implemented a solution to this which will be out in the next release. When Use Attached Orders is unchecked, the quantities of the Attached Orders will not be adjusted to match the quantity set on the Trade Window for the parent order.

When you reenable Use Attached Orders, the quantities of Attached Orders will be adjusted as necessary

I have tested it twice times (2320 + 2322) and from my point of view nothing has changed. Below see pic
#1 - Standard template with 8 contracts (3 targets and 1 Stop)
#2 - unchecked and quantity changed to 3
#3 - reenable (green says 3 accepted)
#4 - split at 3 pieces
#5 - reload of the template and after that everything is ok again

Many thanks
