Hi there,

could you please improve your riskmanager or global risk management? here is what is bothering me: why does the riskmanager only work per symbol? it is not efficient at all.
Lately i had the following scenario: I was trading GC & CL, my global riskmanagment adjustment is to flatten all trades when i reach a drawdown of -500$. I was down on CL 400$ & also in a Trade. I was up in GC
400$ & also in a winning Trade up 400$. Then the riskmanager was triggeret when my CL trade hit the -500$ mark on the symbol & closed my winning trade i had in GC also, who was still up over 400$!!
Thats not how riskmanagement should work. i was overall still 400$ up & couldn't trade anymore because the software was locked until the next day.

Can't you costume the riskmanager so it works for the overall balance & not just for each symbol individual? that also doesn't make sense because the riskmanager should protect me from myself, i depend
on it. so what is my idea when im almost down on one symbol? right i go to the next until i almost reach my limit there & go to the next & so on.

I know its also my responsibility for keeping myself from overtrading, but in that way i can't use the Sierra Riskmanager at all.

Thanks & Greetings

We are not sure what you are referring to.

Specifically what feature in Sierra Chart are you referring to? Make reference to it, by linking to the documentation on this website, or explaining the particular menu command you use to access it.

The Sierra Chart Global Profit/Risk Management Feature

It is the Riskmanager of Sierra Chart. i attached a picture. As i described my issue is that there is no option to activate it as an overall
riskmanager, it just works for each symbol individually. When i want to have a maximum daily loss of 500$, i can lose 500$ in GC, 500$ in CL, 500$ in
ES & so on. But i should be able just to lose 500$ on the account im trading on, not every symbol i can trade.

I would wish that it locks sierra chart when im hitting -500$ on my account, but not when i have the case that i have +500$ in GC & then i lose
500$ in CL. Overall i would still be on 0$, but according to the Global Riskmanager i would get locked just because i lost in some symbol 500$

Greetings

, it just works for each symbol individually.
This is not true. It does not work this way at all.

It is based upon the Daily Net Profit/Loss of the charts and Trading DOMs which are open and used for trading. Refer to:

Yes, but i have one Chart Dom & 4 Charts open + the quoteboard with all the Symbols on it, they are all linked. When i switch symbol on the qouteboard all Charts & the Chart Dom also switches to the other symbol, which has a different PnL for the day.
So how can i Link them all together so my Daily PnL counts for my whole account im trading on?

Greetings

Therefore, this is the source of the issue. You need to have all of the trading charts and Trading DOMs open at the same time. At least one for each symbol you want included in the Net Daily Profit/Loss calculation.
