Spreadsheets automatically changing numbers

When I input a value into my spreadsheet study, sometimes it will automatically add or subtract a tiny amount to the value. I've attached a screen shot. Both values I put in myself. The Call IV column had the value of 20.48. It changed it automatically. There isn't a formula in the field. I can't find a setting somewhere that is obvious to affect changing the values. Please help.

Generally, that kind of situation is a typical floating point precision issue. But, you should not be getting that for data that you have manually entered. So if you actually typed in "20.48" it should be showing 20.48.

First, refer to the following regarding Float Point precision:
Using the Spreadsheet Study: Imprecision of Floating-Point Numbers and Comparisons

If you are typing in that value and then it is changing as you are stating, then we would like to see your spreadsheet. Follow these instructions to get us your spreadsheet:

Yes, it should not be a floating point issue as I'm entering it manually. I've attached the spreadsheet as requested.

The issue will also happen like this. The formula in M3 is =(K3+L3)/2 but it removes .000000000000002 from the result. I've attached the screenshot. When the spreadsheet adds or removes .000000000000002 from a field is inconsistent.

Sorry, we forgot that although it generally does not come up with entered values, the floating point imprecision can display sometimes even with entered values, of which you just happened across one of them.

It really should not interfere with your calculations, as long as you are not needing anything with that number of significant digits. And in order to change the display so you do not see all of the values, select Spreadsheet >> Number Format and set the display type that you want in the window that comes up.
