Bit coin futures does not show up volume in volume by price

Hello, I am a subscriber of CME futures. Bitcoin futures TPO study (Market profile) is coming up correctly but when I use volume by price (Volume profile), volumes are not showing up. It just the random no. that is showing up unlike the volume on ES futures. Please advice. Regards, Sat |

That could be. That contract does not have anywhere close to the amount of volume as compared to ES futures.

That's incorrect. When I checked with your competitor, trading view, it displays the correct volume for current month BTC futures. Looks like only sierra chart is not displaying this volume correctly. Please double check from your side.

What exactly are you seeing? Can you please give us screenshot? Also, keep in mind that the VbP does not work well with Daily historical data. Thanks for the response. Please refer the attached file. Volume nos mentioned in the VbP (Highlighted in the orange color box) is not correct as it is not reflective of the correct volume traded at that price.

This is because you are using the VbP with the TPO. When you do this the Volume shows the number of TPO blocks at that level rather than the volume.

Okie.. So what settings should I've to do to reflect the correct volume traded at that price? I tried many settings but didn't worked out any. I've the same setup for ES futures but it reflects the correct volume traded at that price. Please refer the attached screenshot on ES mini futures

Sorry, we were thinking of the "Number of Trades", which when a VbP is displayed that is associated with a TPO and you display the "Number of Trades" in the volume bars, that will show the TPO count instead of the actual number of trades. Check your Bitcoin Futures chart and let us know what the Display Volume in Bars is set to. It is not set to "Number of trades", it is set to "Total volume" in the Display volume in Bars. Hence, it is should reflect the correct volume traded at that price. Please refer the attachment. This is the same setting I have in ES mini futures which displays the correct volume. Looks like there is something wrong with this volume from your side, kindly fix it. |

Those numbers are correct. This instrument is simply not traded that much. Here is a snippet of what we see from the data showing 1 day VbP profiles. As you will see, they are similar to what you are getting.
