weird question but kind of annoying wondering if there is a setting
when a new bar forms say on the 30min, i keep the footprint compact, but the new candle opens
and the footprint widens out , like im dragging the price axis. which im not, it just auto does this, then i have to go back and manually adjust the charts back down with the price axis

any way to stop it from doing this? most liokely not but sierra tends to have features i have no idea about so i ask

thanks in advance

Can you please give us a screenshot showing what you see so we can better understand the situation and the particular setup you have that may lead to this situation. no problem
heres an example, sometimes it stays ok, other times, it reverts to what you see on the right
it expands , then i have to use the price axis to resize it back

It looks like what you are seeing is the normal process of Sierra Chart adjusting the chart when the Scaling is set to Automatic. In this scale mode, it is doing it's best to automatically fit the bars that are present onto the screen. As such, they can expand and contract vertically as bars fall off the visible area of the screen. One solution is to use a Constant Range scaling instead. Refer to the following:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Constant Range (Scale Range)

It does not look like they are changing horizontally, which they should not. But it is very hard to tell from the images if this is definitely the case. If you are having a problem with horizontal shifting, let us know, as this should not occur.
