I am trying to display split ETH/RTH volume profiles for the ES with volume by price study.

I have entered session times of 9:30 to 16:15 and 16:30 to 9:29:59 for the evening session and checked the Evening Session checkbox. New Bar At Session Start and Load Weekend Data are checked as well.

For the study, I have Volume Graph Period Type set to Multiple Profiles Fixed By time, and Time Period Type for Fixed by Time set to Days. Use Separate Profile for Evening Session is set to Yes.

However, I only have one 24 hour candle (and profile) for each day.

What am I missing? Thanks.

I usually use two VP studies to accomplish that. in your case, one for 09:30:00-16:15:00 and another for 16:30:00-09:29:59. However, using your method, I believe you may need to choose Multiple Profiles from Start Time to End Time. Note, I have NOT tried this. Note that the start and end time in the VP study would be 09:30:00 and 09:29:59 with the other times you mentioned set in the chart settings.

Make sure Time Period Length for Fixed by Time is set to 1.

And what is the timeframe of the chart bars? We would recommend not using more than 30 minutes per bar. Using 1 day per bar will not work. Anything over 1 hour per bar will be a problem.

SC, I want one bar for RTH and one for ETH. I want separate profiles for each. This is a common display. See attached screenshots for settings currently used. Thanks.

User 83762,

This is not an ideal way to do this and there might be someone else here that does this differently. But here is a suggestion..... setup a TPO chart and then add the VbP study. Turn off all the lines and turn the color of the tpo's to your background color. this will get you want you want.

An old thread but I'm sure this still comes up again and again, especially for those that also use Investor RT.

My suggestion is to have two VP studies, one for each session with the times set as discussed above.
Then set up ACS buttons in your toolbar to turn one VP on and one VP off and use that button at 0930 and again at 1630

This is the only way I can do this in an easy fashion
