Stop-limit during market replay causing platform crash

I've finally figured out what is causing Sierra Chart to crash during market replay.

If I move a stop-limit order up to the bottom of a candle w/ price already at that place the application will crash and close.

In a live market there would just be a rejection of the order: "sell stop-limit order must be below current price" - or something to that effect. But if this happens in market replay I get a crash.

We are not able to reproduce this. We will need to do a remote assistance session with you, to observe this. There must be some other cause of the problem.

Also it does not make technical sense this would cause an abnormal shut down. There has never been a problem like this.

I don't know how you want to proceed, but I'm available to take your call. I have been using Sierra Chart for over a year now so I am well aware on how to operate it properly. I have made NO changes to settings in months. This is a bug that surfaced after an update. I can reproduce it every time. It never used to happen in the past. Attached is a video recording of me demonstrating the bug. Please advise as using market replay is very tedious now; I have to constantly save the chartbook in case I crash the platform. When the platform crashes, I lose all progress beyond the last manually saved point.

We are going to closely examine the issue on our side and see what we can determine. We have your Trade Window configuration file to test with.

Something new just occurred. I dragged a limit order down to the current price and the application paused for a second or so then closed. So now this is happening w/ limit as well as stop-limit orders during market replay. That's particularly unnerving as limit orders should never cause an execution error at the current price to my knowledge.

I have been doing market replay w/ Sierra Chart for over a year now and have never had the application "crash"/close... ever... until a couple days ago.

And to be more exact on what I do to trigger the issue: I open the pending parent order, drag it to the current price, and then the platform pauses, then closes.

It is definitely not related to the order type and we know that.

The cause is not what you are describing. There is a stack corruption occurring for an unknown reason. It is not related to moving the order to particular price levels.

We are examining the issue now. We should complete our review, by Monday.

We still have not yet identified the issue or have been able to reproduce, but we have added a safety check in one area of the code, during the process of modifying an order. Update to prerelease 2289 following these instructions:

We want you to see if you still encounter this problem on prerelease 2295. Update instructions:

We still are not able to reproduce, but we think it relates to an issue, with too much stack space being used (although for an unknown reason and the amount of space used is not an unusually large amount but just reasonable). And perhaps a problem with compiler optimizations.
