Yes, "net shorts" and "net longs" are a experimental indicator in ExoCharts which isnt' based on anything real. It assumes for example if open interest rises and price goes up, there are new longs being opened and the other way around etc. It's useful though. But there is no open interest data in Sierra chart for cryptos. And for other instruments there's no OI because such data is not provided. However I'm developing a model which simulates the approximate open interest by some tick data profiling so we can use that as a indicator in NQ and other futures.
