Color background/bar or even trading system based on alert are not working

I was trying to build a trading system, and couldn't figure out why my alert conditions weren't working. So I simplified and tried to just see them visually, with Color Background Based on Alert Condition. My formula was =H<ID6.SG3 Where the high of a 4 range bar, must be lower than the study (BBand lower from 1 minute bar) Nothing was showing up. So I figured maybe it was because this was a reference study from a 1 min chart, on a 4 range bar chart, and maybe refercning studies was the cause of the condition not painting the background. So I simplified even further. I made it super simple. Just simply tested for High being greater than L =H>L This should theoretically paint the background completely since the High will always be greater than the low. But nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?? How do I use alert conditions properly, because they dont seem to function for me at all. I feel kind of stupid, and its probably something super simple Im missing. Thanks |

The first thing is to start with a fresh Color Bar Based on Alert Condition. There are a lot of settings on that study that can affect the results. Therefore, it is best to remove what you have so far, and start over. Then, in the Alert enter "=1". Make sure the Alert itself is Enabled (which it should be by default). Once you select OK (or Apply), all of the bars should turn the selected color. If you do not get this, then let us know. Then you can change your alert condition from there and see the results.
