Hello,

Looking for some clarification on the following two strategies that use the same studies: All of this I want onthe same chart and basically asking if this is possible and looking for a littleguidance since It's confusing to me.

For one Strategy "A" I'm using the Trading System Based On Alert Study Using Buy Entry / Buy Exit and Sell Entry /Sell Exit pairs depending on the direction. For all of the below I am also using the Use Attached Orders so the Cancel All Workin Orders On Exit will be set to Yes on the Buy Exit and Sell Exit studies.
1) Does the ACS Control Bar Button number have to be the same for each Set? i.e. the Buy side and the Sell side both have to be #1?
2) Since I'm only using one set at a time, can they all be the same #? i.e. #1

I also have a discretional entry strategy "B" but would like to use the same Buy Exit & Sell Exit studies as above. From what I read I need to make Control Bar Buttons for each of these but confused about the ACS Button Numbers that need to be used. I understand when i manually Enable one on the Exit studies the other will be Disabled automatically. But What I'm trying to avoid is having to have he wrong one off for when Stategy "A" triggers after I used the ACS Control Bar Buttons manually for Strategy "B".
3)What Control Bar Numbers do I need to use for this separate strategy on the same chart?
4) Can they all ACS button #s be the same #?
5) Do i double up the Exit Studies on the same chart and use different ACS Control Bar Numbers for everything?
i.e Strategy A
Buy Entry / Buy Exit Studies = both with ACS #1,
Sell Entry /Sell Exit Studies both With ACS #2,

Strategy B
Buy Exit Study with Control bar Button ACS #3,
Sell Exit Study with Control bar Button ACS #4,

As I said I'm a little confused. I read over everything several times. If I haven't explained this well enough my apologies. Please answer what you can and ask me for clarification if needed.

Thank You

It all depends on what you want to do.

Here is how the buttons are going to work:
- Whichever Trading System Based on Alert Condition studies you have to set a particular ACS Control Bar Button will be controlled by that Control Bar button.

In other words, if you have all of them set to be controlled by button #1, then when you activate (press in) button #1, all of the studies will become Enabled, and conversely if you deactivate (pop out) button #1, then all of the studies will become Disabled.

Therefore, if you want to be able to control the Enabled/Disabled status together, you would use all the same buttons. Otherwise, you would need to use separate buttons for which studies you want to control separately.

Okay that makes it pretty simple if I can keep it all on one button. It should work since only one study at a time is going to trigger at any one time - determined by my Alert code.

But if they are all the same number, if one of the studies enters a trade, will the button remain on or will I have to enable it again for the exit study? Or does it remain on for all of the studies with the same number until I turn the button off.

I don’t have SC where I am at today

The Control Bar button just controls "Enabled/Disabled". The studies do not change this state based on having an open order or not.

It may help to keep in mind that each ACS button's state only applies to the selected chart. So pushing one button on one chart does not pop the other buttons on all charts, just the one it is on.
