When I install a new version of the software, it works during the session, but when i close the software and re-open it, the previous version i had installed is running.

We can not think of a situation that would cause what you are stating.

What version are you on now (that it reverts back to)?

And what version are you trying to update to?

Do you have multiple installations of Sierra Chart that you might be getting confused between?

Are you running any Sub-Instances?
