Suggestion: When posting to the "General User Discussion and Programming Help" forum, you should add one extra step to the form "Do you want help from the Sierrachart team?" ... if there is "Yes" answered, a new thread should be inserted directly on the support board. There is confusion and many new users do not know the difference between "user discussion forum" and "support board forum". They then feel that you are not solving their a request for help ....

I would like to add that I read every new post in the General User Discussion and Programming Help forum not only to help other people but to learn as well. The Signal to Noise ratio suffers when every other post is one that should be answered by Sierra Support.

You are only confirming, why we did not offer this board until recently. We are removing the programming help board and merging it in with the main support board. This was tried many many years ago and discontinued for the reasons that users are posting in the wrong place, and not getting an answer and thinking Sierra Chart support is not helping them. This is the worst possible outcome.

There is no reason for us to try it again. It is the same problem.

Users simply do not read for the most part. People need to read and be self responsible, but they do not do that. Why people don't want to be independent and smart, we do not know.

It does not matter to have any additional notices and prompts. It is only going to get ignored.

Please do not beg for it back. We are not going to do that! We are locking this thread and we do not want to hear about it. This matter is final. The decision is done.

However, we did think that we had some notice indicating the that board is not answered by Sierra Chart support but we can see that is not the case other than the title of the board implying that and the prompt also restating the name of the board. There is a sticky post at the top that does say this but we can understand how if it is not read.

However, we just have too much experience, that adding a clear notice even as a pop-up will not help.

At the bottom of the Support Board, users have options for Programming Help and User Discussion to filter the threads that are listed. That greatly reduces unrelated threads.

And we will make good effort to make sure threads are properly categorized.
