Hi,

I have been using IB + Sierra without any problems.
I would like to increase to 4 IB accounts running on the same computer. (Those IB accounts have different logins/passwords).

I understand I will need to use 4 separate installation of sierra with 4 separate tws with 4 separate ports. All with Data/Trade Service settings to Interactive Brokers[Trading]

However, I'm getting Connection Limit exceeded. Whenever 1 or more instance of sierra have charts.

Please point me to the right direction. Thanks.

With regards to the Sierra Chart installations there is no problem with having 4 of them running on the same computer at the same time.

The issue that you will have is with the Data Feeds. The data feeds are only allowed to have 2 connections at the same time from the same computer. We will need to check on an item to see if it is possible to have more than 2 in total for the Denali Exchange Data Feed. This may be possible, but we have to double check.

But, the way you have worded things, you should be fine with 2 instances, although it sounds like even two instances are causing issues. If you only have 2 instances running and are having a problem, let us know the exact messages you are getting.

Maybe look at setting up a FA account at IB then you can access all your accounts from a single login... Also single login with SC to access all your IB accounts

^Do you know if an FA account at IB could allow sharing market data across them, and also sharing funds for margins across accounts?

FA account does share market data across all accounts. Margin is not.

So interesting on market data across all FA accounts, since they don't even let multiple user logins of the same account share data?

Maybe it's different with FA accounts? Example I have an FA account, multiple accounts underneath it, multiple users for logging in and they share market data...

You need to create and pay for a second Sierra Chart account for these additional two connections. You can create a new account here:

Per Sierra Chart account, two connections are allowed for the Denali Data Feed .

It is the third and fourth one which will be an issue.

Lots of new info.
I will definitely look into that FA account.

But I also want to understand why I can only get 1 instance working.
Sorry is the answer was obviously stated in settings.

More details:
For those IB accounts I'm using Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed Features and Exchanges >> U.S. Equities (NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX)

as stocks is probably the only thing I would trade on IB.

Below is the error I encounter.
SC Data - All Services | Logon error received from server: Connection limit exceeded. | MaxConnectionsForSameDevice = 1, NumCurrentConnectionsForSameDevice = 2 | 2021-03-03 22:05:46.100

Will having more seirra account work around it? It would be nice to have it all on 1 account with extra fees all added into it.

Thanks for all your guidance.

In the case of the " Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed" only one connection is allowed.

Will I be able to have 4 connections if I have 4 sierra accounts? All in 1 computer?

Will I be able to have 4 connections if I have 4 sierra accounts? Each on their own computer?

In what possible way I could have more connections?
