Custom study doesn't appear in Custom Studies List

I created a custom study which compiled correctly on SC v2230, but did not appear in the Custom Studies list, although I could see the DLL in my Data folder. I reverted to SC v2215 which I had been working on previously. The study appeared in the Custom Studies list with a message saying that it needed v2217 or higher. I compiled the study on SC v2215 and it compiled successfully, but now there was just a blank line in the Custom Studies list where the study had appeared before compilation.
I then installed SC v2217, but the study was still not listed. I then compiled the study again, but it still did not appear in the list. I copied the study to a new .cpp file, giving it a new name by adding a suffix A to the existing name, but made no other changes to the code. It compiled successfully and this time it appeared in the Custom Studies list. I re-installed SC v2230 and the study appeared in the list correctly. I can see the two versions of the DLL in the Data folder. They are identical in all respects except for the name, yet one appears in the list and the other doesn't. I also verified that it makes no difference whether the compilation is done using Remote Build or with Visual C++.
I shared the two DLLs with another SC user, and they had the same result - one DLL appeared in the list, the other didn't.
Can anyone explain this?

Well we would have to get the two files, and have a look. You can attach them here.
