This is what I want to do. I want the ability to have all the settings of my desktop installation of SC saved in a directory in some kind of cloud service (onedrive, google drive, dropbox, etc). I want to have a second installation of SC on my laptop that can also point to that directory in the cloud holding all of my settings. That way, when I make changes to charts or studies or any settings, then those changes happen for both. I also want the ability to share my entire setup of SC with a new user (I can do this, but I have to hunt down all of the files and hope they copy and paste correctly). Finally, I want to store historical data like scid files and depth files or files that constantly update when I'm running SC, in a completely separate folder (outside of the 'Data' folder)

to accomplish this i think there are 3 types of files to categorize

1. personal account files (logins, datafeed profiles, trading records, etc.)
2. historical data and depth files
3. all other files (settings, indicators, sounds, graphics, etc.)

i'm sure there are lots of other things, but you guys are the experts not me. this organization allows me to do 3 things:

1. If I wanted to share my exact setup with another user I could just give them my settings/'all other things' folder (global symbol settings, keyboard shortcuts, chartbooks, study collections, global graphics settings, twconfig files, tool configs, sounds, custom indicators, etc.)
2. If I want to install SC on 2 devices then I could point them to my personal account files & all other files residing on a cloud drive. that way if i make any changes then those changes happen for both installations automatically
3. maybe I want to create a 4x SSD Raid 0 setup or I'll make a RAM drive within the 128GB of RAM I have and put my historical data and depth files there before launching SC so that I can load 180 days of tick data in a few seconds and sim trade replays (the 25GB/s bandwidth on RAM would be awesome for this) or maybe I just want historical data to load faster, then I can now do that if that specific data can be separate from all the other files.
