I can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for. I want to place an order that is triggered when price exceeds a certain level. For instance, if a stock is breakout out, I would like the order triggered to buy once the breakout level has been breached. I just want to be sure because I have made mistakes before misinterpreting order types in the past on other platforms. I have looked through the order types but can't seem to see this one specifically. Thanks! |

The simplest order type that meets your specification is the Market if Touched. Refer to the following: Order Types: Market If Touched But there are others as well that could do what you want depending on the exact specifications you are looking for. For example, refer to the information for the Limit if Touched here: Order Types: Limit if Touched And review the other Order Types that are on the same page as the others above. Also, we recommend using Simulation mode with Replay to try out the order types you are using to see if they match what you are looking for. Refer to the information here: Replaying Charts For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hmmm. As I understand it, the MIT or LIT orders trigger in the opposite manner in which I am seeking. In these cases, the buy order is triggered once the the price is at or below the specified price. I am seeking an order that becomes active once the price exceeds a certain amount. Is there something that I am missing? Thanks |

I had no idea that a stop order could be used in this fashion. How incredibly simple. Thanks so much!
