Hi: I have 2 questions: 1. What is the difference between the J5 and J8? They both say the same thing, "Position Quantity". I was using J8 in my exit formulas so that the "Buy Exit" & "Sell Exit" conditions would not be considered unless J8 had a reading of >< 0. For example in Buy Exit: =And(J8>0, ...). ??Would J5 work better or does this need to be addressed at all? 2. Most important: In my exits (L or M columns), I want to have a different exit formula in the first bar of the entry to avoid getting stopped out too early. For a long trade example, if K3 has a "1" in it, I know that this is the entry bar. The following bars would have K3 as 0. Here is the problem I am having. When K3 gets a true signal the entry goes from 0 to 1 and I AM ENTERED INTO A LONG POSITION. However, if the price falls below the signal at the bar close, K3=1 goes back to K3=0 BUT I AM STILL IN THE TRADE. Therefore I cannot use K3=1 to indicate which bar was the first bar of the trade. IS THERE A WAY TO FIX THIS? OR IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO INDICATE THE FIRST BAR OF A TRADE FROM THE SPREADSHEET DATA? Thanks so much for your anticipated answer. I could not find it in the support documentation. |

1. J5 and J8 are the same: Spreadsheet Systems, Alerts and Automated Trading: Position Quantity [J5 or J8] 2. Change the "Spreadsheet Study for Trading" setting to "Signal Only On Bar Close = Yes". |
