Additional horizontal Ray features

I use the horizontal Ray a lot. It is a fantastic drawing tool but unfortunately I cannot get it to work precisely the way I would like it to. So I'm wondering would be possible to add a couple of additional features.

I want to be alarmed as price “touches” the horizontal line either from above or below. The alarms should go off once per horizontal Ray placement. This means the alarm should not go off again irrespective how often price crosses back and forth over the horizontal Ray. When the alarm goes off once; that's it for the current horizontal Ray placement.

Additional option feature, I would like the alarm to go off as price is approaching the horizontal Ray. (Think of it as an advanced warning). Variable setting; the alarm would go off when price becomes within X number of ticks/Pips off the horizontal Ray (Somewhere between 10 and zero ticks/pips [variable setting]).

Alarm type: Sound: beep once and the alarm will also should in the alarm manager window.
It would be fantastic if you could provide the above parameters for the horizontal Ray.
Please let me have your thoughts on the matter.

This could only be done for an additional charge. This is considered more specialized development.

Guys, trying to keep my request as simple as possible; the addition feature I require most is for the alarm to go off on touch. When price simply touches the horizontal Ray the alarm should go off. If this could be achieved it would be fantastic.

In ver 1098, there is a new option for Chart Drawing Alerts: "Only Trigger Once". When this is enabled, the alert will trigger once, and then the alert is disabled and is no longer evaluated unless it is re-enabled by the user.

For the other items, it should already do as you want. You can set the Subgraph to "Last" or "Entire Bar", and the Comparison to "Equal to" to generate the alert when the line is hit ("Crossing or Equal to" is another option). We are not looking at adding an advance warning at this time.

When the alert is triggered, it is already added to the Alert Manager Log tab, and to generate a sound, you need to select an Alert Sound when you set up the chart drawing alert.

Al; I tried all of these settings and couldn't get it to work.

Example study subgraph: is set for entire bar (H or L) - & comparison to drawing: crossing or equal to.

The problem is when I put the drawing on the chart the alarm goes off immediately without price touching it. I have been through all of this over the last while and was not able to come up with settings that work correctly (at least the way I need it to work).

I have just tried using study subgraph: Last - & comparison to drawing: crossing or equal to:

When I put a horizontal Ray just above price action the alarm went off straight away. When I put a horizontal Ray just below price action the alarm didn't go off until it was touched.

All suggestions welcome

Yes you are correct regarding the alarms I have been using the alarm system for yonks’; it is terrific.

Thanks,

Check your comparison precision. If it is not set properly, then the compares will not compare as expected due to rounding. Generally, this should match the symbol setting and it gets set automatically when the value from your tool configuration is set to "Inherited".

Sorry Al; my mistake. It is working correctly now on the following settings. Study subgraph: Last - & comparison to drawing: crossing or equal to: - I forgot to set up the horizontal Ray default for the above settings. When is version 1098 available?
Sorry about that. Thanks Al, keep up the good work
