This is a feature request to have Anchored VWAP to be added as a drawing tool so you can rapidly add many AVWAPs to a chart and clear them out with hotkeys. Similar to how TC2000 or Trading View run them.

Yea I already heavily use draw VP and have my defaults configured so it really would be incompatible with my workflow to have 2 different defaults set for that as the draw VP tool does not have TC's just goes to the default.

YEs ...the tool would be great ....

I assume you know about Anchored VWAP in user contributed studies....

Menu/Analysis/Studies - Add Custom study -> User Contributed Studies ... study ECI Anchor VWAP

Maybe if more people join to the request, it could be considered a good thing. In my opinion, it is used by a lot of and the tool will always be better as a native feature than any study ....

What is Anchored VWAP?

Yes I use it for static anchored but sometimes I want to quickly peg a AVWAP to a h/l of a swing and having to add a study then guess which one to click on the right click menu is not ideal. Most platforms now have avwap as a drawing tool so SC should be open to adding it.

There are instructions at the following link for creating different configs for the "Draw Volume Profile" tool and for adding associated control bar button - Volume By Price Study: Step by Step Instructions to Configure the Draw Volume Profile Tool

Admittedly you will not get the same features offered by ECI Anchor VWAP mentioned above, but you can certainly use it to draw simple VWAPs wherever you want.

Yes, It is so but without the standard deviation.

Indeed, a "Draw VWAP" tool with similar features to ECI Anchor VWAP would be nice.

And also VWAP to High of Candle and VWAP to Low of the Candle (working as a Channel).

Or also add the ability to mouse anchor your indicator Volume Weighted Average Price

If you go here- Menu/Analysis/Studies - Add Custom study -> User Contributed Studies ... study ECI Anchor VWAP, then in the settings subgraph you can disable the bands (ignore) then when you right click on your chart at the price you want to anchor it will show anchor vwap in the menu and it can be used as a drowing toll

While that is true it is not nearly as useful as if it were a drawing tool. For example, sometimes I do not want it on the chart, and going to ignore it each time is very inefficient. It also makes it very hard to run say 5 anchors on one chart leaving you guessing in the shortcut menu which one is which. It is an easy tool to implement and most platforms have it as a drawing tool, not a study. Both are fine but as a drawing tool its much more in tune with how that tool is used.

Hello everyone!

Just a quick question about the Anchor VWAP study.

I love the way you can quickly add it to the chart wherever you want it to start.

But now the question is...How can you remove it as quickly as you add it?

I mean, there's no way you can remove it unless you go back into the study settings and hide/remove it...

Am I the only one with this issue?

Thanks in advance to anyone who'll take the time to read this post

Yea Fabio thats the whole point of this thread :) is to make it a drawing tool for that very reason. Much more modular and easy to have multiple within a click.

The best solution I found for an AVWAP where you can set it with a mouse click AND it's a drawing so it doesn't show up for other symbols, is to use the "Draw Volume Profile" tool with the following settings:

* Draw Mode = POC, VAH, VAL, VWAP Lines Only
* Volume Graph Period Type = From Start Date-Time to End - This makes it so VWAP automatically extends to the end of your chart and you only need to double the start.

In Subgraphs Tab make sure Volume Weighted Average Price is set to Line.
I turn the rest of the Subgraphs to ignore since I only care about the VWAP line.

Then hit Set Defaults and it will be AVWAP every time you use Draw Volume Profile.

Downside is your Draw Volume Profile won't show you the actual Volume Profile if you use those also. To fix that I'm planning to copy the code from the Draw Volume Profile study and make it a Custom Drawing tool with a different name and then use the identical custom study to Save Defaults for the Volume Profile, but not somehting I use much so not doing that now.

Do add my vote as well. A point-and-click Anchored Vwap drawing tool would be a great addition.
Tradingview and https://tradedevils-indicators.com/collections/frontpage/products/anchored-vwap-drawing-tool are great examples.

I hope the Sierra Chart team will be able to implement this request soon. With everything that gets done here, I assume this drawing tool is no challenge for your level of expertise.
Thank you for your consideration. Good day.

+1 anchored vwap drawing tool
+1 official sierra chart anchored VWAP study w/ drag and drop updating

the chartIQ library or stockcharts dot com have a version of an anchored vwap study with a vertical line you can grab and drag to any time point on a chart. it also includes the option for deviation bands.

ECI ANCHORED VWAP is nice, but there are issues with it bogging down the system or if you need to turn off one of many anchored vwap's on a chart

Fabio asked how you get rid of the ECI AVWAP

this is what i did. i made a button that loads a saved study collection that includes ECI AVWAP. Furthermore, i saved the study collection before i placed the ECI AVWAP anywhere on the chart.

this way, if i add the ECI AVWAP and I want to get rid of it... i just click on the button which will load the version of the study collection that was saved with the ECI AVWAP before it was placed anywhere on the chart. effectively this removes it and also keeps the load time down to 0-1 ms over time. otherwise, if you simply "hide" an ECI AVWAP then over time it will tax your system resources because even if it's hidden, it's still calculating from the point back in time where you anchored it.

+1 anchored vwap drawing tool (basically draw volume profile tool but expanded with the proper standard deviation bands based on VWAP)

I would also be very interested if the Sierra teams could create an anchored vwap drawing tool.

Thanks !
