Hello there,

On my new account, I placed a limit order on the Emini Dow Jones @ 30025 and got filled right away @ 30029 even the price haven't reached the 30025 level? Could you please tell me why?

Also, I placed a couple of other limit orders and stop limit orders this morning and a window popped. Not a confirmation window a "Trade Log window" but my trades didn't show up on the screen. When I was trading on a simulator, everything was fine. What should I do to fix this and put decent limit and stop limit order?

Regards,
A

With regards to the Limit order getting filled, you would need to look at your Trade Activity Log and see why that order got filled when it did. Refer to the information here:
Trade Activity Log: Viewing Historical Trade Activity

As to the window that popped up, it sounds like that was your Trade Service Log, which was probably giving you information on why the trade could not be placed. Select Trade >> Trade Service Log and see if there is information in there. Refer to the following:
Trading Information Windows: Trade Service Log

Hello there,

Thank you very much for the quick reply! Now! What do I have to do in order to trade with limit orders and stop limit orders correctly? Can you provide learning video?

Hello there,

I checked my limit orders and stop limits orders on Sim 1 and everything is fine. How come it doesn't work on my real account?

Alexandre

Make sure you are actually using the order type that you think you are. Check the Trade Activity Log for those orders and the types. The link is given above.

Hello there,

When I place a buy stop limit order on the ES Emini futures @ 3685, an order appears on the screen exactly like that (B Stop Lmt (3686) 3586 Open). It means that I will get filled @ 3686 instead of 3685 but I don't want to get filled that price. So If I want to get filled @ 3585, I need to put my stop order @ 3584 in order to show (B Stop Lmt (3685) 3584 Open) on the screen, correct?

Now that being said, what If there's slippage and I want to get filled at a maximum of two ticks below my price ex: (B Stop Lmt (3685) 3584.50 Open) instead of (B Stop Lmt (3685) 3584 Open); what do I need to do to make that correction?

Regards,
A

What you would want to do is set the Stop Limit Order Limit Offset setting to zero ticks:
Order Types: Stop-Limit

Or if you want to allow a slippage of two ticks worse, then you would use 2.
