Hello,

I plan to activate (via AMP) the Sierra Chart Futures Order Routing Service with Data.

Once connected, what is the best server for me to connect to please? I live in New Zealand and only trade CL (NYMEX).

I generally trade with stop orders.

Thank you

We recommend using Server 1.

Thank you.

Could you please tell me why you recommend Server 1 (Chicago Cermak Equinix)?

I'm curious to know a bit more.

Due to the cross connections we have set up to the exchange, it really does not matter the data center being used because the latency difference, only differs by about 1 ms and that is insignificant considering your location.

There are fewer users on Server 1 and we just want to see distributed usage among our servers.

Thank you for the reply.

I assume Server 5 would be more suitable if I was generally scalping with market orders (not stop orders) - is that correct?

Sierra Chart's description for Server 5 says: "This may be a good server to use if you are in the Asia-Pacific region."

Only use Server 5 if you have connectivity problems to Server 1. Server 1 overall will give you lower latency.

Thank you. Under what circumstance would a person choose Server 5 as their primary server?

Server 5 is currently extensively used for market data for users on the West Coast of the US, and users in Asia and the Pacific region.

For order routing as we said just use it if you notice lost connections to Server 1, 2 or 4. Although you really should not have that problem unless you have a local Internet connectivity issue in which case it probably will not help using it anyway. Honestly, it is just simply there because it is easy to set up, and it might make someone feel better to use it but unless you have an Internet connectivity issue which is helped by using it, it is best to simply go to a server closest to the exchange.

Also, we are currently working on an order forwarding configuration for Server 5. Once that is in place, then yes that would be nice to use that server because it would be able to forward the orders to our Aurora server for low latency server-side management of orders.
