Hello,

Recently we have began to offer a Real-time and Historical Data Feed for several futures exchanges. This feature is documented here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php

Effective March 1, the CME will begin to change some of their exchange fee rules.

If you are already currently a subscriber to this data feed, you can continue to get the CME data feed without any exchange fees. If you subscribe on or after March 1, you will need to pay about a 16 USD/Month exchange fee. This will include both level 1 and level 2 data. Currently there is not a separation between level 1 and level 2 data with the billing system that we use in cooperation with Barchart Incorporated. In other words, you will receive basic price data plus market depth from the CME exchange with this data feed.

Therefore, if you are interested in is data feed, subscribe now otherwise you will have to pay the exchange fees. In 2015, all users will be liable for exchange fees.

Longer-term, it is our intent, to separate out level 1 and level 2 exchange fees. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Although this is not something within our direct control.

SC Team - If we have one realtime connection already and planning to have additional connections little later (after Mar 1st) - any impact in this case?

Thanks

Since there are only one set of exchange fees that you pay whether you have 1 or 3 connections, you should not have to pay the exchange fees after March 1 if you are already a subscriber to the data feed now, when you later add additional connections.

Also, if you are with IQ Feed and planning to use the Sierra Chart data feed but not, because you are waiting for cash indexes. We expect to get the cash indexes out by the end of February 2014. The release of cash index data is already in active development. Really what is holding up the release is just the setting up of all of the symbol settings and assigning symbols to the various exchanges.

Where do you see "create and account" ?

This is obviously a dictation error. It means "create an account".

Several places in this complex stuuf it requiers "creating an account"

ok...short and to the point...
I've been with Sierra somewhere in the area of 10 or 12 yrs maybe closer to 15

1..DO I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING to create an account?
2..Am I covered with these CME Fees? for this year anyway?

1. There are no accounts you need to create.

2. Yes, your Sierra Chart account is covered for the CME for this year as long as you keep your account topped up to cover the 35 USD a month.

We will make sure that the account control panel shows clearly what your monthly cost is.

SC, so that it is clear, if I activate today 2/16 for one month, it will still terminate on 2/28?

If you activate the Sierra Chart market data feature on your account , have a sufficient amount of Additional Services Balance to cover the cost for the rest of the month, and then shortly after disable it so it does not automatically renew, it will end at the end of the day on the last day of February.

And then after that you will be liable for CME exchange fees if you decide to activate the market data feature again.

At this time, due to changes with CME exchange fees, it is our tentative decision that we will *not* be supporting CME market data to be provided separately to users without trading accounts from trading services that Sierra Chart supports.

The reason for this is the CME will be charging 90 USD per month per each sub exchange (CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX) to access their market data if you do not have a trading account. This would mean the total fees could be as high as 360 USD per month.

Since Sierra Chart uses an automated method to verify whether you have a trading account or not, if you are not using one of the supported trading services with Sierra Chart, you will not be able to access the data even if you happen to have a trading account.

Therefore, if you are fine paying the high exchange fees beginning March 1, and you do not have a trading account or you have a trading account but not with one of the supported trading services that Sierra Chart supports, our recommendation is to go to an outside data provider like IQ Feed to get the market data feed:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/DTNIQFeed.html

It would actually probably be more cost-effective for you to open a futures trading account with a low-cost supported Trading service, who will open the account with a $1000 balance, and use that account to access the market data at greatly reduced exchange fees.

Hope that was clear.

We have received confirmation that the 15-16 USD/Month CME exchange fee will be separated into level 1 data and market depth data.

So there will be approximately a 3.25 USD/month exchange fee for Level 1 data and a 15.75/USD per month fee for level 1 and market depth data combined.

The same will be true with the 31.5 USD/month EUREX fee. That will be split into level 1 and market depth components. So you will be able to get level 1 EUREX data for 15.75 per month.

Is there an due to the new fees on funded live trading accounts, using SC Pkg 3, with TT/SC Historical?

Maybe this is a I should know already question...but...I'm never sure

Can you explain or point to a place that can explain EXACTLY what the level 1 data and market depth data is?

What are we gitting now? I use Interactive Brokers and your data feed....

I use Interactive Brokers and what I think is called a DOM is filled in with "questionable Mkt Depth" numbers that change so often, no one could prove that those numbers were right or wrong or made up out of thin air ...

thanks
Hal

There will be no fees collected by us for this.

Level 1 data is last trade price data and best bid/ask data.

Market depth data is bid/ask data at levels beyond the best level.

Currently you are getting level 1 data and market depth data.

If I sign up this late in the month for the real time sierra data feed will I have to pay the $35 again on the 1st of march 2014 or will my monthly subscription start and end on the 22nd of each calendar month? Regarding exchange fee's (Cash Indexes) these run 1st of month to last day of each month so I would only have from today the 22nd February untill the 28th of February (Partial Month) for live data and then I'd have to pay again 1st of March?

Thx

Yes. Exchange fees are billed in full for each month they are used. There is no prorating.

Thank you for the clarification. I just signed up for sierra real time data. Now I want to add the cash indices, S&P 500, Dow Jones, Nasdaq 100, Nasdaq Comp, S&P 100, SOX. I read your information listed below regarding the cash indices for this coming week. Are ALL these indices covered under the S&P Indices activate portion of Add/Remove Exchanges on my account control panel? When I download my 2nd additional copy of sierra I just set this copy to use sierra data and don't connect to Rithmic even though I connect to Rithmic when running my first installed copy of sierra?

Thx

No. We will do our best to get the other exchanges out, in the next few hours.

Yes, this will work fine. You can use the service "SC Exchange Data" access to cash indices. We can also add the symbols to be used with Rithmic as well. That will take a little longer. We will try to have that out by the end of the week.

When I connect my 2nd copy of sierra to "SC Exchange Data" I've noticed I cannot get real time data for the emini's just the available indices symbols you have there at present. What I want to do is to have "One" quote box open with both live data for the emini's and cash indices from within the "One Copy" of sierra. Just for clarification purposes I can't do this at present untill you add the cash indices symbols to Rithmic? At present the only way to have a quote box for both emini's and cash indices is to run 2 copies of sierra, one connected to Rithmic and the 2nd connected to "SC Exchange Data" and have "2" quote boxes open (One Within Each Copy of Sierra)The "Rithmic" connection covers the emini's live data quote box and the "SC Exchange Data" connection covers the cash indices live data quote box?? What available cash indices data do I get when I activate the "S&P Indices" in the Add/Remove Exchanges portion of my account manager? I take it the available cash indices will be S&P related only. No Nasdaq, Dow or CBOE related symbols?

Thx

Yes, this is true. Refer to:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#CME

You will be able to access all of the data within a single instance soon.

Just for clarification purposes I can't do this at present untill you add the cash indices symbols to Rithmic?
Yes. we should have this ready by Wednesday.

What available cash indices data do I get when I activate the "S&P Indices" in the Add/Remove Exchanges portion of my account manager?
The main symbol is $INX which is the S&P 500 cash index.

It would be really great if you could separate out level 1 and level 2 exchange fees. Not only because monthly fees for level 1 are considerably lower (will be an issue for everyone 2015), but i personally would prefer having only level 1 data in my trading dom (cqg/sc and rithmic/sc), it´s annoying not being able to adjust market depth the same way i can do it with ttnet/sc.

The separating out of level 1 and level 2 exchange fees, is still not ready. It will happen sometime in March.

We will look into adding an option to the trade DOM to only show one level of depth.

SC Team - in case if you are seperating out level 1 & 2 and give an option to display one level of depth - would you be giving an option to get the level 2 from live trading account connection or would this be completely ruled out?

We can do this. We just have to come up with a logical implementation for this.
