Data Feeds with AMP Trading

Last month I linked my AMP Trading account with Sierra package 5 using both Rithmic and TTnet.

With TTnet I was not getting reliable bid/ask data, so AMP changed the data feed to Rithmic only to discover that there was no historical data.

Needless to say, I had AMP discontinue Sierra.

I am currently using CQG Trader through the market delta trader platform to run Market Delta.

I have been very pleased with the CQG data.

I asked Chad at AMP this morning if CQG was working with Sierra yet. He said it was but I would have to open an account with Sierra and then they would connect it to CQG. On you website it says that with CQG I still need to sign up for Sierra Market Data. The way I read it is that the only thing I would be getting from CQG is the trading platform and that I would have to pay $40 for Sierra package 5 plus $35 for the data. Am I reading this right? If I use Rithmic is there a way to get historical data?

I can say this has been a very frustrating experience.

Yes. This is correct.

Also the Sierra Chart Real-time and Historical Futures data feed works with Rithmic and TTNet. Here is more information about it:

You definitely will get 1 minute historical data when using Rithmic. There should not be any problem with that. However, you will not get tick by tick historical data or historical Bid Volume or Ask Volume.

I can say this has been a very frustrating experience.
OK, but in each of these cases, all of the issues are not related to Sierra Chart. It is true that Sierra Chart does not support the CQG market data, but then again CQG does not have historical data.

How come you only get 1 minute historical intra day data with Rithmic, yet with the Optimus connection that Sierra support you get historical tick intra data and that feed is just Rithmic.

So how come one connection can do historical tick and the other connection can't when they are both using the same data and execution feed?

There is a separate historical data system which is used for Optimus customers.

Apparently few people at Amp are aware of the CQG Fix option to Sierra. Also, their link to sierra demo on their homepage for Rithmic or TTNet takes one to a Multicharts demo.

do you have any plans to provide historical bid/ask data to AMP customers using Rithmic as you are doing with Optimus?

This would have to be discussed with AMP. Really it is up to them.

No. It is less than accurate.

Explain how detrimental this can be to my trading account. Is this legal? Are you talking about LIVE bid/ask data? Scarry!!!!

I am still confused over pricing. If I connect my account to CQG Trading and use Sierra Chart Real Time service will I have to pay exchange fees as I am currently "grandfathered" with CQG. If I subscribe today will that be just for the rest of the month for Sierra and will the Sierra Package 5 be prorated or will it be good for 30 days? I would like to get a real test of Sierra as my free trial was wasted because of the difficulties with Rithmic and TTnet.

I just got off the Phone with TTnet @312-476-1002. They are aware of the Bid/Ask issue and are doing their absolute best to correct the problem. I am wanting to open account at Amp and use that data feed. BTW, this is the only angle/interest I have in this problem.

We need to make a correction. The bid and ask data from TT is definitely good. Usually we get asked about Bid Traded Volume and Ask Traded Volume. We thought that is what you are referring to. That is not completely accurate when using TT FIX, but that is specialized data derived off of the data feed. If you do not rely upon that kind of data, then this issue is not relevant to you.

Once again, the bid and ask prices and even the reported Bid and Ask order sizes/volumes from TT Net is good.

Yes there will be exchange fees. But for the CME they are only 15.75 a month and that includes market depth. And later on if you do not need market depth data, the fee will only be 3 USD a month.

When you subscribe to the Sierra Chart Data Feed, it will be prorated. When you purchase a Sierra Chart package, you pay for a number of months and each month is 31 days.
