Hi,

Is there a way to display the size of a bar in Ticks with a quick glance?
I need to be able to determine quickly how many ticks in size the current developing bar, and the preceding bar are.
I.e- hover the Compact Value Tool over it?

I have not been able to find a thread on this.

Cheers

Just tried it. This could work.
Is anyone aware of a way to get this information closer to the bar itself, or to display on the Compact Tool Value?

Then there is another option, to have a study with a user button on the panel, when you click on it, you will see the two requested values and click again and it will disappear (this is close to what you wanted in Tool Value). For this variant, if you want, write me a DM or email zyp.sierra@gmail.com

Is there any way to use Bar Difference to see the size of the preceding bar (the last completed bar)? I have been trying to make it work, but I think it is not possible, since there is no option for 'Input Data 1 offset'. I can only offset Data 2.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you very much, Ackin! I will check your free Library.
Having said that, it would be useful if Sierra Chart added the option 'Input Data 1 offset' in its Bar Difference study. It would open a world of possibilities.

You first need to use this study to calculate the difference between the high and the low of the chart bars:
Study Subgraphs Subtract/Difference

And then use this study to calculate the value of that resulting Subgraph in ticks:
Study Subgraph In Ticks

You can hide the studies that you do not want to display and for the study that is displayed you can reduce the size of the Chart Region it is displayed in.

I tried your advice. Both studies (Subgraphs Subtract/Difference) and the previously mentioned (Bar Difference) have the same problem. They only allow offset of 'input data 2'. But there isn't an option to offset 'input data 1'. So, no way to calculate the size of the last completed bar (high – low). That would require offsetting both the high and the low values. I can offset just 1 value (data 2). That means the studies can use the value of the high of the previous bar (the last completed), but can't use its low.

Update to the latest Pre-Release (v 2293), this has the offset for both Inputs 1 and 2 in the Bar Difference study.
