When I enter a bracket order trade my stop is a “ Stop limit sell “ I want to change to “ stop sell.” I tried changing it under the trade> DOM> “right click”and “left click” but it doesn’t change when I enter The trade . Any ideas ? Thanks

So this is normal ?! I just dont want to have a Stop limit not trigger when volatility heats up. I would rather have it be a Stop

That doesn’t answer my question. A stop and stop limit are 2 different things . How can I make a STOP ?

Contact the exchange. Apparently they just do not offer this.

So with Sierra charts I can’t have a “stop?” It has to be a limit stop?! That makes no sense !

No this is not true. It is the exchange which sets all Stop orders to a stop-limit order. There is no way to change that no matter what program you are trading from.

So it’s random if the exchange enters my stop as a “ stop” or “ stop limit?!”

Nothing "random" about it. The CME does this to prevent stop runs on its exchanges.

So whether YOU want it or not, the CME exchanges will add this behind the scenes to your naked stops.

RTFM at the link you were given for more:

There are harsh realities about trading in the markets, and this is one of them.

Really cause even TOS puts a “stop” behind my bracket orders . Not a “ stop limit” you sure this is right ?

But TOS is not showing that it is a stop-limit order.

With our TT based order routing, we see the current order type at all times and show that to the user.

So why have the option on the DOM to change “ stop” or “ stop limit?” If the exchange is going to enter what they want anyways ???

Because SC works with a multitude of exchanges, not just the CME Group.

It still seems not right to be able to just have a “ stop” instead of “stop limit” on my bracket order .
