I have an instrument plotted on the main chart, and underneath it I have a plot from the Sum Charts from List indicator (the sum of other charts). I am trying to use the Difference indicator to plot the difference between the main plot and the indicator plot. However, the software doesn't seem to allow me to do this. How would I go about plotting the difference between the main chart plot and the indicator chart plot? Thanks in advance for your help.

Use the Study Subgraphs Difference study:

When using the Study Subgraphs Difference study, is there a way to have that study plot as normal ohlc bars? Right now it only plots as a line chart. And when I go in and change the indicator-subgraph-drawstyle and choose Bar, it plots the bars as a Mountain type chart graph which is unusable for my purposes. Your help is appreciated. Thanks again.

Really seems like you should not have any trouble with the Difference (Bar) study. If you could provide us a simple example as a Chartbook we can check it. Here are instructions to attach a Chartbook:

Fyi, to make it easier, I used the Sierra Charts Historical free data in the chartbook example I sent above so that it would be easy for you to match symbols and pull up the chartbook data.

Just following up to see if you guys were able to find out why the Subgraph Difference study will not plot in OHLC bar form? The normal Difference indicator does this fine. But the Subgraph Difference study only plots a Line plot which makes viewing the high/low of a period impossible. Thanks.

We have not gotten to this yet. There have been too many other things getting in the way.

Also, this is not what what we would be looking for:
Subgraph Difference study will not plot in OHLC bar form
Study Subgraphs Difference does not use OHLC bars. That is not supported.

Ok, I understand. I was just curious why the normal Difference indicator allows the ability to show the graph draw type as ohlc bars and the Subgraph Difference indicator does not; shouldn't they be the same? Would it be too much to add the ohlc graph draw type option to the Subgraph Difference indicator whenever you get a chance to look at it? Given the numerous types of subgraph info that can be charted with this indicator, it would be very useful to have the ability to plot something other than just a line chart. Thanks.

No, they are different types of studies. Not sure why the Difference (Bar) study is not working for you.

The normal Difference (Bar) study works fine. It's just the Subgraph Difference Indicator that will only allow me to plot a line chart and nothing else.
