Problem, I'm trying to assign a keyboard shortcut to a configuration. All I can do is pick 1 of dozens of Trade Window Configurations and hope it's the right one. This should be much easier. I have a few set already, but I've created many configurations up to now which have been deleted, and I believe your software still uses this information to determine the number of a new configuration. In any case I have no clue which one it is.

BUMP

I know you guys at engineering are very busy and hate getting more suggestions, but it's very frustrating to not be able to use the trade window keyboard shortcut feature.

Thanks

We do not fully understand your question. When you are setting a Keyboard Shortcut for a Trading Configuration, you first have to create a Control Bar Button for the Trade Configuration. In so doing, you assign a specific Trade Configuration to a specific Control Bar Button.

For example, if you are using Control Bar Button named Trade Window Configuration 1, then you assign that to a specific Trade Window Configuration to that button. Then you assign the Keyboard Shortcut to that Control Bar Button, hence associating the Keyboard shortcut to the Trade Configuration.

The image you supplied is from the Customize Control Bar Buttons. The text on the far right side is the Caption that you entered for that particular control bar button. It is not automatically set. Therefore, you just need to select the Properties for those buttons and change the Caption to something that is more meaningful to you.

Thanks, you are right and somehow i just got confused thinking that the names in the dropdown list indicate that the configurations are automatically populated and need to be selected. I set them a while ago and just forget the nuance of the software every time i have a break between changing settings.

I did want to provide feedback about the TWC keyboard shortcuts from the original post in this thread. I believe you modified the text in the keyboard shortcuts TWC dropdown list to directly connect the selections to control bar configurations. Hopefully I'm not remembering wrong, but Thank you either way

I was just trying to connect a keyboard shortcut to a chartbook, but I see in the dropdowm menu it says CB1, CB2. I just don't get this approach. The software is already so complex and on top of that we are automatically supposed to know what CB1, CB2 means? Thanks to my newfound wisdom I figure it refers to ControlBar button configurations.

Could you PLEASE edit the text of all instances of ambiguous settings to directly refer to the ControlBar or whatever links them, as you did with Trade Window Configurations. It's not fun to run into hieroglyphics for simple settings adjustments.

I appreciate all the thought that goes into the platform, but this is just common sense stuff guys

Thanks
