Hello,

Using the formulas in the “IntermediateCalculations” tab of "ADX.13.scss" (ADX)
and data from a 1 minute F.US.CA6H20 chart, I calculated DI(+), DI(-) and ADX. All the DI(+), DI(-), and ADX results did not match the 1 minute chart data, the majority are off by at least 0.40, which is significant and material, given the results in columns H and I of the “Test” tab.

Please see the attached spreadsheet that demonstrates the discrepancies over 4 steps in 4 progressing spreadsheets.

I am now wondering which set of data is correct and if the chart data is correct, then why the formulas in the spreadsheet are not producing those results.

Thank you very much for your help.

I am in the process of going through your spreadsheet. I am the one who created the Sierra Chart spreadsheet and wrote the documentation.

Hi again. You need to re-check your Intermediate Calculations in the fourth tab of your spreadsheet. You did not copy and paste the data over correctly. I re-did the copy/paste job and found the ADX calculations to agree with those of Sierra Chart. You can see the calculations in the attached Excel file.

I did find one small error in the file ADX.13.scss, and this error carried over into your spreadsheet. The error was in Column P of the Intermediate Calculations. In Cell P17, the formula should have been as follows.

P16 - P16/14 + O17

This formula should be copied down to the bottom of the column.

I corrected this error in both the attached Excel file and in ADX.13.scss. However, this error had no significant impact on the calculations. The discrepancy that you found is almost completely accounted for by the copy/paste error in your Intermediate Calculations.
