Hello,

Some issue here with CL-NYMEX scid files.

Since june 25th, some 2500 scid files have been created created and or modified : each month from
"CL-201912-NYMEX.scid" to "CL-222209-NYMEX.scid"
So I have all contracts until Year 2222 September expiry... !!
Great from my gran grad sons if any...

Guess something went wrong with NYMEX Crude....
Same with dly files...
Looks like 41 Go...

Could you advise please ?

Sierra Chart freezes when reloading all these files each time I connect...

No problem with DAX, ES, MES scid files : all is fine.

Thanks !

You can always exit from Sierra Chart and delete all the CL*.scid files. When you start Sierra Chart again and open a CL chart it will redownload all the necessary data for that symbol again. It may take a few minutes to redownload the historical data, so give it time to complete if you do this.

But, we do not know why it is creating these files. The only thing we can think is that maybe you have a Forward Curve either as the study or one of the options in Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings >> Continuous Contract.

Please remove any Forward Curve studies, or make sure that they are not set for that many years in the future. And make sure the Continuous Contract is not set to either of the Forward Curve options for your CL charts.

Refer to the information here for the Continuous Contract setting:
Chart Settings: Continuous Contract (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu)

Thank you for your input.

I deleted all CL .scid and .dly files.

I checked : all contracts are either not continuous, or volume based rollover or date based roll over ; max number days to load is 180.
I don't use any Forward Curve study, checked that too.

As I loaded the Chartbooks, SC recreated all CL scid and daily files for every month in the 220 next years....
I don't understand why, AS CME lists only 10 years and a couple of month of CL contracts.

What a strange thing as a 2190 February contract, or 2229 June contract.

I have litterally thousands of HD request in the Msg Log : as as example for January 2105 (!) :

The problem is the symbol in the chart must be wrong as well as the Days to Load setting. What exactly is it set to? Go to Chart >> Chart Settings and tell us what is in the Symbol box.

If you are not sure what to do, just close that chart so it is permanently removed.

You're absolutely right on target !!!

I just spent the last two hours checking logs and charbooks.

It happens I mistyped a symbol in a hidden chart, with an absurd distant expiration in time : hence the software's call for CL contracts for the next two centuries...

My biggest mistake was to type the Symbol instead of picking it in the droplist.

I'm sorry to have taken your time for such a silly mistake.

Thank you for your time and your answers.

With kind regards,

JM
