Hi:

I have setup Sierra with Interactive Brokers for trading US equities.

1. When I add 100 symbols to the Intraday File Update List (under Global Settings)
IB tells me that my market data is over the limit and the limit is 117.
I reduced the Intraday File update list to 90 and so on but I still get this message.
(IB settings are at 186 for both fields)

2. On a related note, Can I use the Sierra delayed intraday historical data service to build my intraday files after the market for a list of symbols and then only rely on IB for that trading day's updates as needed.

3. Is there a documented procedure for doing (2)?

Thanks.

p.s. I am a trial user planning to sign up this week. The only negative so far I have found is that switching to a new symbol during market hours causes a delay due to data download.

1. Refer to:

2, 3. Instructions are here:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Using Sierra Chart Historical Data

is that switching to a new symbol during market hours causes a delay due to data download.
Once the data has been downloaded for symbol, it does not happen again. Although when reconnecting to the data feed, the missing data is downloaded. It sounds like you what you are referring to normal chart data loading from the local file.

Over the next couple of months though, it likely will be a requirement to use the Sierra Chart exchange data feed in order to obtain Sierra Chart historical data when using Interactive Brokers:

Although the pricing of that service, will remain similar, the symbol limits will increase for about the same pricing.
