Hello,

version 2118

Every time when I add/modify a study AND check the "Save these settings as the default" on the bottom of the study settings window then SC hangs.
See error message on the attached screenshot.
Charts still update continously but there is no way to interact with the program. It can only be shut down from the Task Manager, End Task.
However, the new study is not added to the chart but the new defaults get saved. After the restart and adding the study to the chart uses the new parameters.

Thanks

Problem with memory block / pointers.

Do you use any of your own or third party studies?

Nope. This is a fresh start, clean chart.
ATR was tweaked for the demonstration. Line changed to Subgraph name and Value only and checkboxes to see it on the heading line, as seen on the pic.. than again I set the save defaults to show the error.

We cannot reproduce this. What other studies are on the chart at the time?

I added nothing else to the chart.
For me it happens all the time. I shut down the real-time data/trading service, the DTC server, tried the Safe Mode.. and no luck.
From this standpoint this seems a local issue to me. I do an absolute clean install and retry.
I need to copy some relevant files to the new instance according to the "Help topic 15: Transferring Sierra Chart Settings..."
At best, some files might got corrupted in such a transfer earlier. However, I update SC regurarly.

I'll be back with the result.. Thanks.

Here are the steps:
- clean stable (2115) install in a new directory
- start without example chartbook

- new chartbook
- find symbol (NQ June), open intraday chart
- (historical data downloads)
- press F6 (studies)
- select Average True Range
- check Show Settings (in the middle of the studies window)
- click Add
- check Save these settings as the default (in the popped up settings window, at the bottom)
- click Apply
- freeze..

I did no transfer of any files from other instances, contrary to as mentioned earlier. So this is a clean binary.

I hope this helps.

Thanks

It seems that the problem arise only when the Show Settings (in the middle of the Studies window) is checked, to pop-up the study's settings immediately after it has been added. When this is not checked and the study is set separately via the Settings button (on the right of the Studies window) then it works fine. See attached screenshot.

Thanks

We see the reason for the problem. This will be resolved in the next release.

FYI, I'm not sure if 2120 is the fixed version but Set Defaults button on the study settings dialog still hangs.

FYI, in 2128 the problem still exists.

- press F6 on any chart
- check Show Settings in the middle of the windows
- add any indicator
- indicator settings pops up
- press Set Defaults
- (Hang)

Ok this must be related to:

- check Show Settings in the middle of the windows

The problem is we just cannot reproduce but we made another change in 2130. Please test 2130.
