Move to BE command is closing losing positions?

I am setting up a dedicated device to trigger shortcuts and trading macros. Right now I'm just testing everything out, making sure all the buttons trigger correctly, intentionally hitting wrong buttons to see what happens, etc. That's what has led me to the current question. If I place an OCO trade (market order), and while the trade is against me say 3 ticks I trigger Move to BreakEven, the trade closes. I'm fairly certain I remember trying this before today and the stop would move for an instant (I could see the line jump on screen), and then go back to where it was, because obviously it can't move to BE if the trade is underwater. But now it just closes the trade immediately. Is there a setting somewhere that controls this behavior?
