Customize for Control Bar Buttons is grayed out

I'm wanting to map some custom keyboard shortcuts to control bar buttons, but the Customize button is grayed out in the Customize Control Bar 1 window. Anyone know how can I make the button available?

Assuming that you mean 'Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcuts', I think that the buttons 1-50 correspond to the keyboard shortcuts 1-50. e.g. Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcut 1 (keyboard) = Custom Trading Command/Shortcut 1 (button) |

Not sure we're talking about the same thing. I'm referring to the "Customize Control Bar 1" dialog, and the "Customize" button there. It is grayed out, so I can't set what the buttons actually do.

So do you mean buttons for Cutsom Trading Command/Shortcut or not? Have you already setup the custom keyboards shortcuts? You either configure the Trading Command via the keyboard shortcuts, or add a button to the control bar and then use the 'Configure' command found in the button's context menu. In either case Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcut 1 (keyboard) = Custom Trading Command/Shortcut 1 (button) etc. If you are meaning something else entirely, then I'll go and hide somewhere. Please don't think I don't appreciate your attempt to help, we just aren't talking about the same thing. Right click on your control bar, and choose Customize Control Bar 1. The you'll see a Customize button in that dialog. This is the button that is gray, and will not allow me to change the functionality of the button I have placed into the bar (Custom Study Button 1 through 3). |

Ok, it is clear what you mean now. In which case refer here - Advanced Custom Study Interaction With Menus, Control Bar Buttons, Pointer Events: Introduction in particular this "It is also supported to assign keyboard shortcuts to these Advanced Custom Study Control Bar buttons. To do this, select Global Settings >> Customize Keyboard Shortcuts. In the Commands list, expand the Custom Study Control Bar Button Keyboard Shortcuts list. For complete documentation, refer to Customizing Keyboard Shortcuts." Maybe this helps? |

Thanks but that doesn't address my issue. The only problem here is that the Customize button is gray, and I don't know why. All I'm trying to do is map a couple of specific Trade Window Configurations, to buttons, so that I can map hotkeys to them. But as long as that customize button is gray, I can't actually assign a function to the buttons. So they are there in my control bar, but do nothing. |

1) You don't want a "Custom Study Button" then, you want a "Trade Window Configuration" button. 2) You don't set the hotkey using the 'Customize Button', you assign the keyboard shortcut using the Customize Keyboard Shortcut functionality - Global Settings Menu: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts (Global Settings menu) Date Time Of Last Edit: 2020-05-08 18:30:01
