I am a new user to Sierra Chart.

After installing the latest version of SC and launching the 64 bit version, I received an OS notification (Windows 10) that 'This App Can't Run on this PC'.

I did some basic troubleshooting and Google searches but cannot launch SC.

I used the Windows 10 Compatibility Checker but this did not remediate the issue.

Any insights?

This is first time we have heard this.

Are you still having a problem with this? We do see that you did successfully run 2083.

We also see your account required activation and that is now done.

No. I have not been able to run the 64 Bit version. I am on a surface pro x windows 10. When I click the icon to run x64 it just shows 'This app cant run on this PC'

Not sure what this means, but here is what I found:

https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/surface-pro-x-arm-app-compatibility

What the Surface Pro X can't run are 64-bit apps without a version built specifically for ARM.

Attached is a screenshot from the older machine which you noted launched yesterday and also a screenshot from the new machine that does not launch Sierra Chart.

So you have a Surface Pro with an ARM processor?

You cannot run Sierra Chart on an ARM processor.

Although we probably could build the program for the ARM but there just is very little demand for that. It would be nice for us to offer this, but with so many things we have to do we just cannot commit time to it now and we do not know what unexpected complications there might be.

Ugh...it is not trivial to replace this machine.

The machine in question is a new Surface from MSFT.

It is a standard Windows configuration that is widely available.

Would you reconsider building an ARM compatible version of SC?

We really cannot spend the time right now on an ARM configuration. That is just too much work right now and we have other higher priorities that are long overdue.

See if you can get the computer replaced with one that uses an Intel Processor.
