In the prior version of this study, the width of the square expanded to fit the text. Sometimes the square would become a rectangle. This was desirable because the background color of the text was fixed (like a text box for example) so the text could be read at all times with no more than a casual glance.

As far as I can tell, with the new functionality the square remains a square. This leaves 2 options (both impractical IMO): 1) allow the size of the square to change with the text's width, or 2) live with the fact that the text will run off of its background color, and depending upon the color scheme of the chart, the text that has 'left the square' could become unreadable.

For example, consider the affect of using the new version on the Number Bars study. The row height is usually fixed on a footprint chart. Allowing the square to become larger will block the data on other rows. So you say, "no problem just fix the size of the square," right? Well, now the digits in the hundreds place, or the thousands place are printing outside of the square.

Please reinstate the prior functionality.

We will add Inputs to the study to give a further amount of control over this.

Would those Inputs also include direct control of the text size?

Hi SpearChucker, this study has an input called "Text Size." It's the 8th input from the top.

Hi SC, been using OpenGL recently and the setting for "Draw Volume Text" of "With Background" draws a black background instead of using the "Bid/Ask Dominant Color Range" settings. I just tried this setting with GDI. It paints a white background instead of using the chosen colors. The great thing is that the background now expands with the text as it did before. Any chance it could also use the chosen bid/ask colors like in the prior version of this study? Many thanks!!

Edit: Uploaded screenshot of my settings.
