Hello, I'm running sierra chart on a sata ssd. I benchmarked it with 2 different programs, userbenchmark and crystalmark. For sequential reads, Userbenchmark got a read of 269MB/s and crystalmark got 400+MB/s. When I check system resources, sierra is only reading between 20-30MB/s when loading a chart with multiple years of historical intraday data.

Is this an issue related to Sierra? I've been using Sierra for years now and haven't really benchmarked this stuff in the past, but it is important now. I'd appreciate any thoughts very much.

The reason for the slower read speed is that Sierra Chart has to process the data that it is reading. It is unlikely to be processing data at the same speed that the SSD can provide it. So to increase the read speed you also need to get a faster CPU.
