Hi, I'd like to know which files in my "SierraChart" folder on my C: drive I should back up in order to save my chartbook plus the way it's laid out (want it on a flash drive). Specifically I mean the color and shape of my candles, my chart timeframes, the products I have in my Quote Board, that I have 3 charts that appear on all 3 of my monitors at once, etc. I took a guess and have been backing up the entire "Data" folder but it's now 12 GB. I see a "Backups" folder but not sure if that's what I need. Thank you!

I have been using this method to save my Sierra Chart. With the full Data file it is up to almost 200GB. Does all data need to be saved or is there a way to purge old data that is outside of my parameters set?

Since you are getting your data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed, you really do not need to keep the .scid or .dly files, which contain the Intrday data and the Daily historical data, respectively. You can always get that data back, as we have all the historical data available. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

In the end, the data takes up the space. The Intraday and Historical data can be redownloaded from us, as we noted above. And, as noted, you do need to use our Denali Exchange Data Feed to get that data. This is due to how different services use different symbols and how Sierra Chart deals with the data for different symbols. The one other thing to be aware of that we had not considered when we posted in Post #4 is the Market Depth data. We only keep about 6 months of historical Market Depth data, so if you need more than this, then you would want to back that up as well as other items. Otherwise, look through the files listed in Step #5 of the following link for what files you may specifically want/need: Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation: Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
