I am posting this as a comment to the below thread because it is locked:
***Interactive Brokers is Garbage*** (Technical Support is Now Fully Ended!!)

This post is not about arguing with the statements SC support made, regarding IB's unreliability, but to add a quick example that demonstrates when everything works fine:

- I am running SC/IB and using SC RT data since ~2+ years now.
- I trade futures and options and spot FX on the major US and EU/UK exchanges.
- 90% of my trades are executed through SC.
- I am having a quite complicated account structure to map and manage through SC (advisory structure, multiple client accounts, different allocation models running at TWS side, etc.)

When I created this SC/IB setup, I followed every single steps provided by SC support very carefully - 'as is' on the page describing how to connect to IB for trading.

It is a long read and definitely can take time to process and shows the high number of issues SC and SC users encountered with in the past. But it also shows that SC support was able to give working answer to almost all of these issues.

End result: since I initially setup the SC/IB connection I experienced zero issues. It is rock solid and simply works.
When there was a problem, it was almost always the result of a mistake I made, or if it was something else, SC support always fixed/answered it promptly.

Regarding IB's support:
I can not comment on their tech support (never used them) but can confirm that the retail support is far from what I call ideal/acceptable.

BUT: I am using their institutional support and it is worldclass. Same level that I experience when dealing with SC support or TT's support. I have not experienced this too many times during my career (I have experience with roughly 50 different retail/institutional brokers and banks in the past).

So in brief, because of my location and legal restrictions and structure, it is not an option for me to abandon IB, especially because I'm 110% satisfied with the current setup I have (SC+IB).

Hope this helps other users understand that this setup can work as well - irrespectively of the high number of possible problems.

Also would like to say a huge thanks to the SC support again, for making this possible.
