Efficiency of Overlay vs. Study/Price Overlay

From what I understand, to put one symbol's price onto another graph, the primary advantage of using the Study/Price Overlay study versus the Overlay study is that the source and destination chart can use different bar periods.

But in my case I'm okay with the bar periods being the same and won't even look at the source chart. Given that either study will work identically and I can choose either, I would like to use the most efficient one. Is one study more efficient than the other?

Use the Overlay (Bar or Single Line) study.

Thank you -- as a secondary question on the Overlay study, how do I change the bar width? I have my source chart set to HL bars, width 3, but using the Overlay study to plot this, I am only able to change the color of the HL bars, not the width, as it reverts back to a width of 1.

The width of standard types of bars cannot be changed. We recommend creating your own overlay function using other Draw Styles.
