I have purchased a new PC and tried to install the same installation as my existing pc but the screen resolution or size of SC is different. I am running windows 10 on both. I am running 1920x1080 on both. And its the same monitor on both.

I have done a download install from SC and then copied the required files listed in help topic 15 over.
I have deleted that folder and then done a complete copy of the entire folder with the same result.

I thing I have figured out is I have a font size of 9 in my first install but I end up with a 14 on the new install. changing it makes a difference but its not everything. the icons at the top are bigger and my charts don't fit the same way any longer..

What am I missing? Anyone run into this?

Thanks

Doug

You just need to adjust font sizes as you require:
Graphics Settings: Fonts and Text Appearance

And you can also adjust the Control Bar buttons to display text or graphics and also control the font size for when they display text. Refer to:
Control Bar: Control Bar Button Properties
Control Bar: Control Bar Buttons Size and Text Size

Is there a way to change the size of the images used in the control bar like you can with the text under font?

I have spent hours on this and still don't have it figured out. I have attached a word doc showing the control bar from both PC's
The top one is the new pc with a copy of the complete build from the existing pc. I have gone though all your suggestions and made sure both are at 9 point font. It appears that issue is the size of the images on the buttons not allowing the boxes to go smaller. Which you say is not a user changeable option. I'm not sure I understand why the same copy of the same program switches from 9 point to 14 point font???? it is the same monitor same monitor settings, same resolution....

other programs are exactly the same, only program that has been different is SC?

Any thoughts on what else it might be?

Thanks

Doug

We have to examine the code carefully to see why there is a difference. We now understand what you are referring to.

I am having the same issue, but it also extends to my chartbooks and chartbook groups. New install of SC, All files copied over as instructed, fonts changed, but also resulting in not only oversized buttons, but oversized charts as well. It looks as though SC believes the screen is all of a sudden much larger than before for some reason. Hopefully a resolution to the taskbar issue extends to the opened chartbooks.

This is an old thread. The issue you experience is 100% related to the operating system. Not Sierra Chart.

Refer to:
Graphics Settings: Font Sizes Unexpectedly Changing
