I see several posts on this board that discuss Barchart as a data source for SC, yet the SC website does not list them as a data provider.
Has Batchart support been discontinued?

Yes direct support for that is discontinued.

I see.

Reason I asked is that I am looking for a data feed that would work both with Sierrachart and Motivewave (to use their Elliott Wave market screener which is not available elsewhere).

Also understand your desire to move your user base to using your new data feed product.

Since MW are data feed provider agnostic, would you be amenable to offer your data feed to MW users?

I do not want to pay for two real time feeds to power both systems.

Thank you

There is a very good solution. Motivewave can use the open DTC communications protocol server that Sierra Chart has:

This is excellent news! I will be sure to share with MW developers.

To be clear - will your data feed allow two simultaneous connections or I will need to alternate between SC and MW in case only one connection is allowed?

When using the DTC server in Sierra Chart it can feed any number of connected programs. In this case there is really only still one connection to the data feed to the server. It is not supported to directly connect to it outside of Sierra Chart. You have to use the DTC server within Sierra Chart.

Got it. So the correct process would be as follows?

1. Start SC and connect to data feed
2. Start MW and connect to data feed server by proving my SC login credentials as part of the authentication process.

Anything else?

Also, is there any limit on how many tickers can be looked up simultaneously as part of the screening process through MW connected to your exchange server?

Just re-reading your reply: “It is not supported to directly connect to it outside of Sierra Chart. You have to use the DTC server within Sierra Chart.”

Where can I look up instructions on how to connect a third party software to the data server “within Sierra Chart”?

We did give you the documentation previously. Refer to:
Data and Trading Communications (DTC) Protocol Server

This is something that Motivewave needs to interface with. It is definitely worth their time. The symbol limit depends upon the data feed being used within Sierra Chart.
