Hi support,
I am using this method to run server instance for SC Exchange Data Feed and connect various client instances -
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/MultipleServices.html#AccessingMarketDataFromOtherInstancesOfSierra%20Chart

As of v2010, when using this feature in conjunction with Rithmic Trading, I receive live data & depth ok, but historical intraday data does not download.

The message logs shows this error -

HD Request # 2 | Downloading Intraday chart data for CLZ9-NYMEX to the file CLZ9-NYMEX.scid. Service: nymex | 2019-11-14 04:12:09.290
HD Request # 2 | Download start date-time: 2019-11-14 04:10:33.000 | 2019-11-14 04:12:09.291
HD Request # 2 | Using server: port 10149 | 2019-11-14 04:12:09.291
Socket (0) | Address is empty. | 2019-11-14 04:12:09.291
HD Request # 2 | Error downloading historical Intraday data for CLZ9-NYMEX. Initial error connecting socket. | 2019-11-14 04:12:09.300

I have reverted to v2007 for the Rithmic instance, and now data downloads ok from the SC Data server instance.

Using the exact same functionality with Transact Trading and v2010, I see no such problem.

I understand that this is a feature for which you will not provide technical support, but I don't understand why it has ceased to function correctly in this instance.

This is the problem:
HD Request # 2 | Using server: port 10149 | 2019-11-14 04:12:09.291
Socket (0) | Address is empty. | 2019-11-14 04:12:09.291
Did you set the "Historical Data Server" Symbol Setting for the symbol to the address and port number?

We will also run a test.

Ok, thanks.
The "Historical Data Server" setting for symbol is set to match server instance.
Symbol settings being used are unchanged between v2007 and v2010.

This issue seems to be resolved in v2011, thanks.

edit:
I spoke too soon, this is not 100% resolved.
Intraday historical data downloads ok (i.e from overnight on initial opening of charts).

After a brief disconnection, I am missing a few minutes of data from the rithmic instance, no data is missing from the transact instance, both instances using a common instance of sierra as the data server connection.

Nothing has changed in 2011 so we still need to look into this. So the source instance is connected to Rithmic? We do not see why that matters but we will try to test it that way. This is not Rithmic specific in any way.

Ok, I assumed something had changed as I didn't get the port related error message today when I tried v2011.

To summarise my setup -

Server Instance - SC Exchange Data Feed (used for all CME & EUREX data)

Instance 1 - Transact Trading
Instance 2 - Rithmic Trading
Instance 3 - Not connected to trading service
Instance 4 - Not connected to trading service

Instances 1 & 2 source market data from Server instance using the following process:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/MultipleServices.html#AccessingMarketDataFromOtherInstancesOfSierra%20Chart

Instance 3 & 4 use simple DTC Sub Instance connection as they are data only.

Only Instance 2 showed problems with historical data after update beyond v2007.

We apologize for the delay. We are looking into this now. We have an idea about why there is a problem.
