Hi,

Today something is not right, I'm trying to access intraday data for UK listed stocks and I'm getting errors.

Message from IB: No historical data query found for ticker id:200007. IB Error Code: 366. Request ID: 200007. | 2019-11-08 13:15:38.602

All the stocks that were working yesterday such as:

AZN-STK-SMART/LSE
RIO-STK-SMART/LSE
etc.

... are not working today. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Milen

Seems like now the way to query this is AZN-STK-LSE.

Is it normal that the formatting has changed? How do we follow these changes? I just found out by refreshing the Symbols function in SC.

The changes are implemented by Interactive Brokers. We do not know what is correct or not correct.

Thank you very much for the clarification. I didn't know that. So when the user clicks the "Update Symbols" button, the list and access formatting is fetched from IB?

No, all of those symbol settings comes from symbol settings we configure.

Hi,

Really sorry to bring this question up again, however I'm facing the following issue:

The BRBY-STK-LSE is working to access the data for Burberry, as we have discussed in the previous posts. However, that stock is being traded on other markets such as: CHIXUK, TRQXUK, BATEUK

By using the 'BRBY-STK-LSE' format, I'm accessing the data only for that market. However, in TWS, when you do the 'SMART' mode, it will pull the data for all of the markets (LSE, CHIXUK, TRQXUK,BATEUK). Is there a way to achieve the same result in SC?

Just to make things clear, BRBY-STK-CHIXUK is working as well, but BRBY-STK-SMART or BRBY-STK-SMART/LSE is not working anymore.

Thanks.

You know we really just have to draw the line here. This is the responsibility of Interactive Brokers to help you and this kind of support is just not worth our time anymore.

We see you have a trial account so we are fully declining support here. Otherwise, we would tell you, we have had enough of this and we are willing to give you a refund. We have had enough of this damn Interactive Brokers stupid trash. This is nothing more than a bunch of stupid poor design on their part. Absolute total complete trash. We have had enough of this.

Decide if you want to continue to use Sierra Chart with Interactive Brokers because you are fully on your own if you do.

I understand. And yes I'm on trial now. But I will be funding my account and purchasing a paid plan very soon. I don't understand why you are being so mean.

I have been studying the documentation rigorously since my free trial started, not to mention that I have watched hours and hours of webinars and videos online. I absolutely love the platform - coming from a mix of other platforms, just need to reconstruct the SC versions of the tools that I'm familiar with from those other platforms - and it is coming together nicely. (see the attached image)

I'm investing time and money into this because I know it is going to work and I realise SC is superior to any other platform out there.

Honestly, I don't care about IB. I just care about being able to trade London stocks besides Futures etc.

Anything that will give me the London Stocks data will work for me. I could not find that within SC's native real-time data.

And it is working good enough (with the IB data, despite the compatibility issues), charts, doms, studies, everything is working at a precision good enough to keep things running.

The only bit that is confusing is those 'Symbol Settings' where it goes '?????-STK-SMART' or '?????-STK-SMART/LSE'.

Ok in regards to post #7, we have looked at it again and really we do not know the answer.

What you need to do is contact Interactive Brokers with your question and find out how you should fill out the "Contract" structure when using the TWS API for market data and separately for trading for the particular instruments in question and give us their response, and we will do any necessary Symbol Settings updates and tell you how to put together the complete symbol in Sierra Chart. We promise we will do that if you give us the information.

Also be aware there is this setting in Chart Settings which can specify a different symbol for trading as compared to the symbol used for market data.:
Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu)

We think we are able to provide a delayed London stock exchange data feed. We are looking into that and we can probably have that set up in a couple of days. We will see about real-time data.

Hi,

As a follow-up, I have put a basic case study to demonstrate the issue. So, just that I'm sure that we are on the same page and I'm not doing anything wrong. Please have a look and advise on the best way to proceed with this.

If there is no change in your opinion regarding this particular issue, then I will be proceeding with your suggestions in post #12.

Once again, thank you very much for the help. My question is summarised within the attached PDF.

Thanks,
M. B.

There is a lot in that document so we need time to go over it but one thing that we have implemented already is the automatic setting of Tick Size from Interactive Brokers TWS since obviously it appears like there is no single value for that with the LSE.

Thanks for your time and for the help, that's fine. Take your time.

but one thing that we have implemented already is the automatic setting of Tick Size from Interactive Brokers TWS

So this is already implemented? How do I access this? Do I need to update my SC?

There are updates to Symbol Settings and also some program updates.

All you need to do now is update Sierra Chart to the latest prerelease 2016:
Software Download: Fast Update

And then make sure this option is enabled in the Chart Settings:
Chart Settings: Auto Set from Data Feed (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu)

We also set the Session Times for London stock exchange symbols as you showed. If you want to apply those, refer to:
Global Symbol Settings: Update/Apply Symbol Settings to Charts

And finally if the symbol format that you are using for those stocks is not providing data you need to find out from Interactive Brokers how to fill out the Contract structure.
